Andromeda helps Papa John’s feed 1500 at the UK’s largest network gaming event.

When the organisers of the i30 chose Papa John’s Pizza to feed the estimated 1500 gamers and spectators at the i30 festival in Newbury, it was always going to be a challenge.

Papa John’s Franchise Partner Naveed Orakzai called on Andromeda to help organize the IT to make everything run seamlessly.

Using a Virtual Private Network (VPN), Orakzai was able to connect to his store, using laptop computers on a wireless network, at the I30 Tournament itself.

These computers were used to remote control extra Rameses stations at his nearby Papa John’s store.

Orakzai and his staff simply placed orders on the laptop computers, which were then instantly transmitted to the chef’s make line station back at the store. A constant flow of drivers was used to ensure that the pizzas were delivered to the hungry gamers on time.

During the course of the 3 day event, so many pizzas were sold that the store was able to hit an all- time weekly sales record for a UK Papa John’s store.

Commenting, Franchise Partner Naveed Orakzai said “Andromeda’s rapid response to my request helped us gain a significant amount of extra sales, and the Rameses EPOS system really helped us keep everything under control”.

Ben Portsmouth, CEO of Andromeda said “This was an unusual request for us, but we were able to come up with a solution that worked. Our broad band enabled technology helps our customers unlock extra sales that would otherwise not be possible”.

Jack Swaysland, Operations Director of Papa John’s UK, added “I am really pleased at the record sales achieved by the Newbury store – and this highlights the opportunity we have to make the most of our investment in our Rameses EPOS system, to generate extra sales”.
